Zencafe's Microtubes 2K

At first I thought this was an original Darkglass design but couldn't find any info on it except for the schematic. But it turns out it is a DIY designed project by zencafe at DIYSB. Schematic and info in this thread,

Looks like a fun and quite simple project which looks like a hotrodded Red Llama/Tube Sound Fuzz with some extra tonal options

Lell Heavy Metal DEQ-700

 Schematic avaiable HERE

The switch appears to a on/off selector for the distortion section so it can be used as a stand alone eq pedal as well.

Lell EX-9 Exciter

 Schematic avaiable HERE

Note that pot lug numbers isn't labelled in the schematic. And the pot tapers is unknown but my best guess is that they are linear.

This one seems to be a treble booster/light overdrive with a tonestack somewhat related to a parametric eq.

Sunn Beta Pre Amp

Ok, let's release the beast. Two layouts. One stock for iether Bass or Lead cap values.

And another one with a Beta/Lead switch. Since I'm not a big fan of offboard wiring I decidied to simplify things a bit. Lead cap values is always in circuit and with a 4PDT switch you can switch in four caps in parallel so it matches up with Bass values. Some values differs in few hundred pico farad or a few nano farad but the overall difference is minimal. And in theory you could use a SPST switch....

It also has an onboard charge pump for 15v/-15 operation.

This going to be the last layout I will post in a while since I'm going back to work tomorrow but this and a few other layouts should keep some of you occupied....;-)

*Edit*

MTK once again outdid himself! Here is a short demo of Lead/Bass switch version.

Stock layout.

Ampeg SS-140c Channel A Pre Amp

Xotic BB Pre Amp

Two layouts for this one. One stock and one with an additional Mid control. The clipping diodes is placed on the side of the board so you can easily add a diode clipper switch. Just omit the diodes on the board and add wires tat pad 1M and 1N to a DPDT switch where you solder your diodes of choice.

Minotaur Sonic Terrors Fuzz & Burn

MTK traced this pedal and sent gutshots and component values to AlexS who sent them to me to make a schematic and a proper layout with all components on the board. Still, there is some offboard wiring to do since it is two circuits in one enclosure.

So what is it? Essentially an Electra Distortion going into a Meathead with an input/output selector switch.

Once again, thanks to MTK for tracing this!

Ampeg vh140c Channel A Pre Amp

This one was quite a mess to get right since some of the schematics online was missing parts and/or had the wrong values. After some head scratching I worked from the factory schematic of the actual amp.

However, did some mods without changing the charcter of the sound to much. First 9v/-9v operation is used simply because there wasn't a big difference in sound compared to stock 15v/-15v, maybe a bit less headroom (I have added a 15v version of it at bottom of this post but it is not verified).

Added some power filtering and changed a non polarized cap to standard electrolyctic (3,3uF) and changed gain pot to audio taper for better sweep.

Stock units had three 4558 op amps but to my ears TL072's perform much better. Also a buffer up front is mandotory because this thing will squeal with controls dimed.

First up schematic:

Verified 9v/-9v version

15v/-15v version which is using a the more robust LT1054 charge pump.

Thorpy Fx Fallout Cloud

One of the more interesting Big Muff derivates out there. The first three stages is a basically a Dice Works Muff Diver which itself is based on a 1972 era Triangle Big Muff. The tonestack is whats make it standout from the crowd; an active transistor based two band eq.

And demo of MTK's build

1776 Effects Multiplex Jr.

 Schematic and info HERE .

Original calls for a VTL5C3 vactrol but since they are obsolete and stupidly expensive the layout calls for a home made vactrol. Just socket the LED and LDR to find the right combo.
