Madbean BirdDog

An old forgotten madbean project based on the pre amp section of solid state Squier 51 amplifier. I really find these SS amp designs interesting and they usually ditorts in an interesting way. The op amp types aren't specified in the schematic but I bet TL072 will work fine. You can also try op amps with bad specs like LM1458 or LM358, things might sound more fuzzy and dirty with these.

Fender Blender MOJO layout

It is all about the MOJO!  Got a comission to build a bunch of the larger classic fuzz circuits using "mojo" parts, more preciely 1/2w carbon composition resistors and axial electrolyctics/tantalums. It may not be a huge difference soundwise but it is quite fun to build and it looks cool.:-p.

Power filter caps remains radial as well as the film caps but for true MOJO, tropical fish or mustard caps should be used:-). But I will probably end up with Greenies or ceramics. Also, all transistor pinouts will be CBE but if I manage to source some of the harder to find transistors with BCE pinouts, I will do some leg twisting. Note that none of these layouts is verified at the moment and I will start building most of the stuff in a couple of weeks but if anyone fancy building it now...here you go!

First up....Fender Blender.

Compact layout avaiable HERE.

Fender Blender 3-knob Booster

This one is my favorite clean boost of all time and it is lifted from the obscure forgotten 3 knob Fender Blender. This rare bird had four tone settings; a great clean and poweful J FET based boost and three weak fuzz settings.

The 2N5925 FET might be a bit hard to source but a 2N5457 sounds identical to my damaged ears. And while the original had a 50k pot this layout has 100kA for even more boost.

BAJA 5E3 Deluxe Single Channel

Schematic and info HERE

Now verified. Does fendery overdrive really good. Quite bright, punchy and amp like.  It's an good idea to use log taper pots for gain and tone controls since the action is at the beginning of the rotation.
