Jordan Fontaine Overloader

A contribution drom Jordan Fontaine, sort of a Big Muff on steroids...

t's a Big Muff with a bass booster that can be blended in between Q2 and Q3. The overload of low end and volume freaks out Q3. The circuit goes from fairly standard muff to sputtering and gated goodness. I find Sustain and Overload both set around 1 or 2 o'clock gets the best sound. The tone stack is fairly flat. The Mid Shift switch gives back some of the standard scoop and makes full CCW much darker for doomy sounds. The switch ends up being fairly subtle and can easily be omitted.

The build is verified by both my build and Fuzzonaut who gave it good review.

Electro Harmonix Bass Big Muff

Per request. Was a bit hesistant to upload this since there are three missing cap values. But socketing some values should get you close enough. magus femar did some socketing and ended up with some values that works well. See the notes below the layout.  Note that I omitted the ferrite beads since they are overkill and I also omitted the direct output jack.

Frost Giant Electronics Little Acid Fuzz

Phew, loys of work lately so not much time for the blog and building lataely. A few people have sent me some new traces and new layouts. These will be uploaded today. First out is Little Acid Fuzz by Frost Giant Electronics.

Another Frost Giant PCB traced by Sergio. Based on the op amp version of the Little Big Muff from the late 70s. The internal Tone trimmer can easily be moved to the outside for a 2-knobber.

Minotaur Sonic Terrors Swamp Lord

evilarsen is back! This time he traced Swamp Lord by Minotaur. A tweaked Rams Head style Muff with a clipping switch and a Mids control. Nothing new under the sun really but the doom crowd might be interested in this.

Umbrella Company Mayonaise Fuzz

A japanese boutique Big Muff variant with some bell and whistles. The 1979 switch adds a different stexture and aggression to the distortion. Doping switch is basically and Mid/Scoop tonestack switch. And the Mode switch (which is an internal DIP switch in stock units) toggles between two values for both clipping caps which adds some bass i one postirion. The 33k and 24k series resistors are replaced by one 56k resistor due to lack of space on the board.
