Lell EX-9 Exciter

 Schematic avaiable HERE

Note that pot lug numbers isn't labelled in the schematic. And the pot tapers is unknown but my best guess is that they are linear.

This one seems to be a treble booster/light overdrive with a tonestack somewhat related to a parametric eq.

  1. Thank you for all these soviet circuits!

  2. Could it be a bit like an Aphex Aural Exciter ?
It features similar "drive/tune/mix" parameters, and is also called an "exciter"...
I may try to build it next month :)

    1. Not too similar to the Aphex Aural Exciter which has two additional op amps and a OTA chip.

  3. As usually I didn't built it, but I emulated the schematic. :P

    I suggest a correction:
    Tune 3 is Tune 1
    Tune 1&2 is Tune 2&3.
The Tune dual gang pot is more balancec if is log.
In this way the Tune will have the peaks about from 2.5kHz to 11kHz. Under these frequency there's the roll-off that cut the low end. So, it's definitely a treble booster.
The max boost is about 30db.
Mix and Drive work good as linear.

Maybe later I'll try to trace the veroboard, but I will not build it.

    1. Sorry, maybe it wasn't so clear.
The Tune pot log or linear doesn't change the frequency, that will remain just the same.
But if the Tune is log when you set it at 50% the peak is in the middle of the other two peaks at extreme settings.
Saying it briefly: it's more balanced.

    2. Nice! Thanks for simulating it. Changed the lug numbering and taper of the pot.
