  1. Hi there, can I ask which schematic you used to layout this one? Got it bit of troubleshooting to do.

    2. Cheers for the link!

Bear in mind this is probably my ignorance at reading a schematic, but I'm not getting any ground to pin 4 on IC1 & IC4 and I can't see them connecting to the ground lead on the layout either?

Also there seems to be some differences to the inputs and outputs of IC4 on the schematic?

    3. The ground issue is quite an easy fix....you need a double link at pad N24, see the updated layout.

As for the IC4, do you mean you see the inverting and non inverting inputs is reversed?

As for pin numbering and IC labels it doesn't follows the schematic exactly but usually the order of the op amps doesn't matter and they all share the same reference voltage.

Hopefully the doublelink will fix it!

    4. Cheers for the help, that fixed the grounding issue.

Kind of got it working. The 2nd position on the attack switch doesn't work and the drive side of the circuit is very noisy unfortunately. I will leave it a few days and have a look at it again.

    5. Great! I'll take a look at the schematic and layout once again during the next days to solve the switch noise.

    6. So far I cant spot any errors...does the switch cut out the sound completely?

    7. Hi there, yeah, no sound on the middle position.

  2. Built this some time ago and forgot to post. Works great and sounds amazing on 7 and 8 strings. Surely on bass too, but I have not tried tho.. Cheers!

  3. This looks like it's off the old schematics that have guessed values. If your attack switch doesn't work in middle position and drive starts to oscillate at near full turns than yup. I think there's an actual traced one out there now so has a lot of different values to this one.

  4. Hey Chris!
You don't happen to have link to the updated schematic?

  5. I too would like the updated schematic as my switches only work in one position.

  7. Still not sure which schematic Chris is reffering to. Compared it to the new Maelstrom project by Aion Fx. https://aionfx.com/app/files/docs/maelstrom_documentation.pdf
I see no differencies apart from the switched lug numberings for the Attack switch?

  8. Hello. I made this pedal but it didn't work. Can anyone tell if this really works? It's supposed to be verified but I'm having a lot of problems.

    1. We need some more information to help you out. We need voltages on every pin for the transistors and ICs for a start. You can also check solder the solder joints, solder bridges, misplaced components etc. Also, having an audio probe is handy in this situation.

I hated troubleshooting when I started out but pretty soon I realized I learned a lot by it. So hang in there.
