I read the original transistor's gains varied widely (150-600!) so I used some very hot ones and this roars. The gain control is useful here in getting a HEAVY, defined distortion, aside from the fuzz.

I think it would be best described as "punishing" when this thing is max'd out. I used BC108B's (mindful of the pinout) and I think it sounds perfect. I can't wait to get this one boxed up.
