  2. Hey! Built this and it sounds great but it’s a bit quiet for me. Is that normal? Max volume feels a bit under unity. Just wondering what it could be. Thanks!

    1. Yes, that's normal, these baraley reaches unity. You could tack on a booster after it or increasing/omit the 18k resistor right to Q3. But changing the resistor would probably alter the fuzz sound and possibly alter the sweep of the Balance control...

    2. I will try swapping the resistor tomorrow and see what happens! I messed with the 33ks earlier and got fuzz or clean to be louder but not both / they acted weird. I appreciate your reply and updating the site so frequently! Keeps me coming back to see what’s next. Cheers!

    3. Hey fuzzhead - I tried your suggestion today and removing it does increase the volume of the fuzz side and it doesn't seem to negatively effect the sound as far as I can tell. If I could get the clean side to be louder that would be great - but even like this there are more usable settings. You have to turn the volume down a bit with all fuzz so when you roll the balance back you just turn the volume up a bit. Thanks for the suggestion!

    4. Great! Glad you got a volume boost there. For more clean signal you could try a smaller value for the 47k resistor at collumn K. I guess you'll need to try a few different values until you get a satisying balance between the clean and fuzz signal.

  3. I put this together with 2N2222's and a 1N456A that I happened to have. Piercing fuzz, plenty of volume on mine. Good stuff!
