Where did you get the values for this one? I saved the 47 Rams Head from Kit Rae's big muff page, but the tone control values are different. His are 3.9nf/33k and 33k/10nf compared to the 1.8nf/33k and 33k/12nf here. The one here is going to be super scooped.
This is drawn after Kitrares schematic. I read 12nF for bass side of the tone pot. For the 1,8nF cap I guess you refer to the bottom wide mojo layout? Yes, there are a super scooped mode with the switch in center position. With the toggle in 2,2nF position it is in parallel with with 1,8nF which equalls 4nF. Thats stock mode position. In 8,2nF mode the eq curve is almost flat. If you want to do the mojo layout with stock mode only, you can omit the switch, 2,2nF and 8,2nF caps and replace the 1,8nF cap with 3,9nF.
Hey Fuzzhead. I built the bottom wide layout a while back and the tone sack didnt work. Then I noticed that there's a cut missing at F22. Just thought you would want to know. Cheers!
Question about the 2nd layout....the square one with mojo parts....am I crazy or is the 7.5k resistor on row 9 that comes off the 470nf cap going nowhere? It starts from b9 and goes to i9, but it doesn't seem to go into anything... I traced the board with an audio probe and the signal stops at i9...at the end of the 7.5k.....if you could point me in the right direction, I would be forever greatful!
It looks like the 4.7 connects to sustain 2 on one side and the base of Q2 on the other. Just by looking at the other layouts. Maybe try moving that one leg.
Fuzzhead, I think the 7.5k on row 9 should goto the base of q2, but I'm not sure how to go about adjusting the layout. P.S thank you for taking the time to make these layouts. It must be a lot of work. A site like this is priceless!

ReplyDeleteThanks! Cut added.

I'm sorry, I meant the 7.5k. Try moving it to the base of Q2.
ReplyDeleteYep, the bottom leg was at the wrong spot. It should be moved to the base of Q2. The layout is updated.
ReplyDeleteAwesome guys, thanks.
ReplyDeletethanks for posting this layout! made it yesterday and added a extra switch which gives it much more lowend, excellent for my uses!
