Since I’m thrifty, i sometimes build a layout because I already have a piece of Stripboard that’s the right size. For the same reason, I’ve also avoided building circuits that use comparatively expensive mosfets as diodes.
I’ve built this one, and it works fine, and definitely has its own sound. Initially, I found it quite lacking in bass. Replacing the 22N cap with a 220N was my solution, and now I quite like it. I’ll call it a “muscular” overdrive with a crisp attack and a nice range of tone. Thanks Anders and please tag!
