How can this be verified? The link to base of q1 is wrong, it should go to the collector. Hard to verify properly without a specific schematic but I'm checking it against the regular fuzz throne schematic.
Chill, Bob, no need to use such an accusatory tone. As compared to the pic of the build, those were obviously a couple of minor illustration errors. Which Anders has already corrected. So now you can thank him.
Thanks Bob for the correction. I made this last Sat. and it didn't fired up. But when I made the correction as you mention, now it is working. Sounds great! Thanks master Fuzzhead, evilarsen, AlexS and Marco for this great layout.
Thanks for catching that I uploaded the wrong file. Big Ooopsie on my behalf...
No offense taken here, are well aware that text written in web conversations can be percieved harsh and angry since we are missing the whole context compared to a normal face-to -ace conversation.
one of the reasons I love coming to this blog is that, in almost three years of building, asking dumb questions (and making plenty of mistakes along the way) no one has ever talked to me in a mean, harsh, or accusatory tone. I'm hoping this stays the standard for interactions here.
Woah, I certainly wasn't accusing anyone of anything or trying to take a harsh tone, just a question. People trust the verified layouts. Luckily I spotted it pretty quick, but others might bang their head against a wall for ages trying to find the problem, not double checking the layout because it's verified. Very appreciative of Anders and others work over the years.
Question! Which do you prefer for doom sound? The Pharaoh Supreme or the Fuzz Throne Deluxe? I haven't made the Pharaoh Supreme but I made the Pharaoh with EQD Tentacle in front. Killer sound.
I think it depends on the amp. I've found all the Pharaoh variants sound monster into a slightly dirty amp. I've not built the Fuzz Throne Deluxe, but the regular version into a clean amp with lots of headroom sounds absolutely gigantic; into a dirty amp, it goes to mush & loses all definition immediately.
Finally got around to building this. Love it, awesome fuzz. What size enclosure is that , that Evilarsen used? I can almost fit it in a 1590b with that same knob configuration but no room for jacks. Thanks, Matt
Aww Hell , I know what Im doin tomorrow, lol. Thanks evilarsen, AlexS and Marco.
ReplyDeleteAnd you too Fuzzhead
ReplyDeleteIs this doom?
ReplyDeleteI haven't built this version. I like the 4 knob version. It is indeed doom.

ReplyDeleteIs it possible to use 1P6T for Depth Sw and 1P4T or 2P4T for Clip Sw?
ReplyDeleteThose should be fine, since you're only using 1 pole on each of the rotary switches.

ReplyDeleteAlso the 2k7 to drain of q4 is connected to ground instead of V+. Why was this tagged verified?

DeleteHello, is this layout verified and working fine?
ReplyDeleteIs there a demo audio or video online of this deluxe version? I can't find anything...
It is my first time using rotary switch, will this one work fine?
