I built it with MMBF5457, using smd adaptors and sockets. I made a few mistakes (unsoldered links, component's location mistakes, shorts...), but I managed to get the circuit working eventually, after hours of struggle.
I used a 120pF ceramic capacitor instead of the required 100pF, I hope the difference is almost unoticeable... I used 35V 2.2uFelectrolytic caps, so I guess I can't feed it with 18V, but that's all I had at the moment.
I can't compare with other DLS versions, but I really like how this circuit sounds ! I was curious about these DLS circuits, now I know they're really good.
Just finished it, using BF256B selected to have VGS (off) between -2 and -1V (mine were around -1.5V all).
ReplyDeleteSounds very well and became my favourite DLS version :)
Thank you a lot, fuzzhead!
Thank you Radu!

Great layout, Thanks a lot !
35v is enough to handle 18v - the general rule is the capacitor should be rated1.5x the maximum voltage. 25v caps and above are good enough.
DeleteI just tried it with 18V and everything sounds fine, thanks ! I'll keep that in mind.
