Question: Are the diodes shown on the layout correct? The notes say D1-D2 are 1N4148, D3-D4 are 1N4001 - but the diode part colors don't correspond (D1 and D4 are 'regular', D2-D3 are signal). Just want to make sure before I start building this - thanks.
If you look at the pedalpcb schematic for their DIY board of this circuit, you can see that each pair of diodes consists of one 4148 and one 4001 - I'm assuming that both pairs act as clipping diodes in this. I'm not 100% sure if they are laid out in the correct order here - only because I don't feel like staring at this one for that long, but I'm pretty sure this drawing is correct, even if the colors of the diodes are not accurate. Here's the pedalpcb build doc: https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/Mammal.pdf

DeleteFrom what I see, D1/2 are 4001&4148 combo, and D3/D4 follow the same combination. So, yes this layout is correct.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all!
