Great sounding fuzz, I like it. I built it on a suggestion from Alex. I used a 2N5457, 2N5089, and 2N1308. Subbed the 14.7K's with 15K. Who the hell has 14.7K on hand? heh Thanks for the layout.
Got some mods to recommend! Wasn't digging the EQ sweeps at all, so experimented and ended up with C10k for Bass (lug 3 to G1, lug 2 to L1) and B25k for Treble (same wiring). This really opened it up! I also added the C10k "clipping" pot as seen on the PedalPCB Fuchsia Fuzz (remove the jumper from D20–E20; lug 3 to E20, lug 2 to D20). This added a whole new depth of use, and it's an easy addition.
I tried a low-pass filter cap between the collector and base of Q3, but decided on a mere 82pF to shave off the uppermost bacon-frying sizzle. Anything much larger started to dull the bite of the pedal that I like so much.
Thank you for your great layouts. This one works fine and sounds great. I put volume 1 to ground, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, Volume 1 should be connected to ground.
