Compared it to the schematic and found some minor errors. First, simple remove ik reistor connecting to pin 6 of IC1. God knows why it is there. Also, connect switch 3 to the other side of 470 ohm reistor left to IC1. I've updated the layout and shifted a few things around but those fixes should hopefully fix your build.
Tis awesome. More refined. Tbh it feels like its more choked gain wise, less fuzz definatly more od/distiortion cranked. The cut is nice, more usable than the rat personally, was dinding some nice low gain tones with a generous amount of cut. Gonna box this bad boy and box one for a mate who was enquiring not long ago. Your quantum mystic layout though. Thats my new heaven though. Goddamn.
Quantum Mystic is great but I highly recommend a simple buffer upfront since it squeals with all knobs dimed but thats the nature of the beast. I've talked to people that has a real one and it squeals too...
Just build this sound amazing But question the drv knob does not kill distortion at unity any idea of what could be the problem ? over all sounds good Thank you
Built this out of curiosity more than anything else. I omitted the cut at S-9, to link pins 1 and 8 of IC3 for a MAX1044 instead of the Lt1054 as I didn’t have one on hand. Sounds cool through my little honeytone that I use to test circuits. It’s a slightly more open and less nasty sounding Rat style pedal I suppose. Dunno if such a thing is needed but it’s cool. Sounds like Josh Scott’s wet dream. Indie and compressed. That’s through a little plastic amp though. Thanks for the layout as per usch. Happy horrordays!
Tried it into my Fender today. Mid pushed and cutting. It makes me struggle to find a warmer setting which isn’t really there. Sorta feels like a rat trying to be a klon or a ts. So maybe a rat for strat guys or Gibsons. A boost for guys who want a more asymmetrical fuzzy texture than what’s traditionally available. I like it. Not smitten though. Thanks again for the layout.
Nope something was shorting a bit. It slays. Haha sorry for the bi-polar posting. Enthusiasm and lack of patience. Stuck it in an old Rat enclosure with a pink LED.
Hi de hi, not getting any signal out of this bad boy. No buffer bypass or pedal on.
ReplyDeleteI'll take a look at the schem tonight and see if there is a n error in the layout tonight.

DeleteFixes didnt seem to work, but i will give the new board a go asap. Ta.

ReplyDeleteHey, still not working. :(
ReplyDeleteNope. Im a douche. Wired ground in wrong hole.
DeleteVerified.
Awesome! Thanks for verifying. How do you like it? And how is it compared to a stock Rat?

Ok, I think I will build it too then!

ReplyDeleteThank you
So I compared this to schematic, drive 1 should go to 470ohm and 220nf to ground to cut distortion At unity
ReplyDeleteAwesome job you guys
Thank you again
