 Schematic is aviable HERE.

As with String Slinger, a true bypass mod has been made for this layout.

  1. I had an idea that i wanted to communicate. Does anyone else think it would be great (although tedious) if these pedals were tagged by transistors and ic? As a poor noob with few components it would help me to find stuff i can make. Just a thought. I realize that could be a pain in the ass.

    1. That would totally make finding stuff on this site way more comprehensive and concise. However, there are over 1500 layouts here, and I'm pretty sure that Anders probably wouldn't go back and edit every single post to include tags for components, no matter how nicely you ask him to do so.😳

    2. But allow me to add this: regarding certain components such as transistors and IC chips 1) SOCKETS. Building with these will save you time+money but also allow you to experiment. I personally recall when I first started building and realized that the Big Muff circuit sounds quite different if you swap 2n5089's in for 2n5088's (which I had none of at the time) - however, not every experiment yields positive results. The first time I blew up a capacitor was when I tried to use an op amp that wasn't rated high enough for the Sunn Beta preamp's voltage.

The process is just as important as the product when doing this DIY thing. And sometimes that means experimenting and failing in order to learn.

  2. I believe only two of the 10uf capacitors are NP. C4 and C14 on the schematic.

  3. Actually, looks like the layout might be missing a polarized 10UF cap. Looks like there are three 10UF caps on the schematic, two are non polarized and one is standard.
