Inverted Cross Audio Octaver

Here is a useful little circuit that can be used before or after your favorite dirtbox. It is basically a Green Ringer  circuit with a buffered clean blend.

Schematic is avaiable HERE.

  1. I'm guessing D3 would be a 1N5817. D1 and 2 probably germanium, I used DK9's. Didn't have a 2N5087, so used a 2N3906. Well a signal goes through, but the pot works as a volume control, and overall it's a fuzz. Not a very good one. I shall try some different germaniums and see if there's any 5087s about.

    1. Do you have your Ge diodes in the right direction? You probably know it already but the band on those russian D9x diodes are the anode.

  2. Yup, got them right. Checked with trusty Atlas. Shall check for bridges but since I've got a circuit don't reckon I'm likely to find a fault, but always worth a look. Currently life getting in the way!

  3. Verified! I managed to get this one up-and-running last night. I was cautious after reading the feedback from Itchyfoot (and with the layout missing the text for D3 = 1N5817 and D1/D2 = Germanium I was worried it may not be complete).

I used a 2N5457 in place of the J201 and for the D1 & D2 slots - I socketed 1N34A's (with the black band in the same direction as the red band). It's a decent octave pedal and I like having the knob to control it since I plan to box it with another pedal.
