There is an old layout for this one in the library that looks like trash so I did a new one from scratch. The Depth control was pretty much useless (factory/design error?) so I rewired it for this layout. Also there was some complaints about the feel and taper for some of the controls. See the suggested changes below the layout.

I never understood this circuit being marketed as a distortion/overdrive type pedal. I ended up picking one up a few years ago on some great sale. It is a really great parametric EQ style circuit with a little bit of grit. It has a lot of control over the frequencies, so if you are just fiddling with knobs without care, it is easy to make it sound bad. If you spend some time learning the functions, it is a very cool EQ pedal.
ReplyDeleteAlso, can confirm that the "depth" was almost useless stock. I found/performed a modification somewhere years back, that made the depth more useful, but (if I remember correctly) reversed the pot sweep direction and may have had a slight effect on the gain control. I will need to dig this pedal out of the graveyard to confirm.
You can verify this one. It sounds rad. What a great swiss army knife the eq is.
