This one works. It doesn't gate very well though and its noisy as hell. I can't find a schematic but looking at another layout shows Q2 flipped. But it doesn't sound terribly different that way. I'll have to experiment with different transistors when I get a chance. Thankssss
I must've had a bad connection. Sounds as it should. Intensity limits signal to the fuzz and so it's brasher and less gated fully open and darker and more gated CCW. As Micheal mentioned 2n2222a metal cans seem to work best. Oh, and it's very loud. Log taper on the Volume would probably be better.
On the combined schematic of the aenima/torn peaker-Us-Neverdrive there seems to be another 100k resistor from Q4 base to collector. The tagboard layout is missing this also. Just wondering if I’m reading it incorrectly and if it makes a difference to the gating?
I have built both layouts and they all sound distinctively different. I like all three configurations personally. I haven't looked at a schematic for any of them. The US gates as it should. Quick build and sounds cool.

DeleteThanks as always Tom!

Awesome, thanks Tom for your response. I always enjoy devi ever fuzzes and yes they are quick builds .
ReplyDeleteYes, the 100k resistor threw me out at first but read some old forum post where Devi wrote that is should be left out.
DeleteOkay good to know, as always many thanks fuzzhead
ReplyDeleteFinally had some time to build the US and Noctavia. Both great fuzzes if you enjoy Devi Ever designs.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm digging up an old post ;-) ! I've tested BC109 in place of 2N2222A and they work perfectly!
