With gain down low it's a nice light to medium gain overdrive which has a nice warm tone.
Once to max out the gain, it does exactly what the name says and gets crunchy and more like a lower gain distortion. Which sounds really good.
I like to play around with things, so I swapped out the TL072 for a 4558, which added a bit more warmth.
I then noticed I had a Baxandall tonestack (Vero off the Parasit studio site) lying on my desk.
So I hooked up tonestack board after the Cosmic Crunch and fired that up.
The tone controls work really well with the overdrive. I also noticed if you max out the bass and treble on the tonestack, the whole sound enters boosted fuzz territory.
So yeah, nice little pedal this one. Works like a charm.
Thanks Fuzzhead, layouts are as excellent as always 😀
Just built this one!!
