A pretty cool design, this. A FET booster that slams a FET Fuzz Face with hard clipping LEDs.
All 10k Source resistors is replaced with trimpots for yeasy biasingg.
A big thank you to Deadend Fx for the trace of this rare bird that was old in Japan in limited quantites before the millenium.
Schematic is avaiable HERE.
Tag it! I didn't have the right transistors so I just used J201's and bent the middle leg out. Using the voltages on the Deadend FX schematic it sounds brutal. Angry bees brutal. I preferred it with the bias's at the more common -4.5v, which is what I tried before looking at the schematic. I'll try with the 2SK's if I can find them.

hey man! i don't know if this is the correct place but can i request the tubescreamer with vemuram tsv808? thanks!
ReplyDeleteI already have a half finished layout for it. But I need to find the time to finish it, things are a bit hectic over here...
DeleteBuilt, works, rocks.
ReplyDeleteI have built one. Very nice super saturated and dirty sound. Used 2SK30A-GR I had left from a different project (no idea what is the difference compared to Y version), these are not hard to come by here. Q2 and Q3 trimmers could be replaced with 10k resistor in my case, it sounds best in that position. Q1 trimmer can be used to push the dirt, but is also good at 10k. Bright switch is just a low-pass filter, you can just omit the switch and 390p cap, if you like it "bright". Also used polyester caps for 1u-s.
