Built this one from a PedalPCB board a while back. I gifted it to a friend, so I decided to build one for myself using this layout. Happy to report it works exactly like the other :) tag it!
A quick note for anyone who builds this circuit: the volume pot doesn't completely mute the signal. There's a 1K resistor between Vol 1 and ground. Just mentioning this 'cause it threw me on my PedalPCB build. The schematic wasn't available back then (build doc still isn't up on PedalPCB), so I thought I'd screwed something up or got a wonky board. Don't have an original pedal to compare it to, but I'm assuming this is how the 1991 works, too. Anyway, if, like me, you want the volume to completely kill the signal, omit the 1K resistor on the bottom right and jumper K17 to Q17.
Are there any other pedals with a volume pot that works like this? I've built quite a few pedals at this point, and I've never seen one do that.
I waited this schematic for a while, I though it was more complex, but I think it sounds good, anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe layout seems ok to me, but there are two jumpers between the pin 8 of the ICs. I'd leave out the one under the ICs.
agreed. good catch.

Totally forgot to comment, but this one is verified! Awesome sounding OD, and very versatile
ReplyDeleteJust built this one and love it - as Guilherme says above, it can be verified. Thanks for the layout!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
