  1. No doubt: you're the man! A million thanks! Tomorrow I will build it and tell you about.

  2. there is no exact working scheme. Especially with 6 pins.

  3. Well, here's the report: works wonderfully! Tag it! I'm very happy with it! Very useful the rate mode. Another possible improvement would be to converte the trim in a outside pot. Anyway, I could kiss Fran Blanche, and you, you my friend, you should be nominated to the vero layout oscar! :O)
    Cheers and take care!

    1. And YOU should get an Oscar for verifying this! Thanks a lot! Demos sounds great and the wave shape switch seems to make this thing way more versitale than other analog tremolos.
I want to build this myself but having a hard time finding the ICL8038 chip. Burnt my fingers a few times by bying obsolete ICs from ebay so you don't happen to know relieble vendor?

  4. The ICL8038 is a rare beast, indeed! I just found it, by chance, in a electronic kit some guys arround here sell - this one:
    https://www.ptrobotics.com/varios/7196-kit-diy-modulo-gerador-de-sinal-de-funcao-monolitica-icl8038.html

They are reliable. They even sold me two OPA2134 (shame on me!).
But if you find very difficult to get it, I'll offer you mine: proved and tested. It´s the minimal I could do to pay back all the great layouts you offered me for free.

As for the Vibutron, it´s the best tremolo I ever tried. And I tried a lot. God bless you!
And it´s not just a tremolo: it can act almost like an enhancer!

    1. Oh, thanks for the offer! But I think you should keep it since there is other circuits with this IC you might want to try and I just oredered a few 8083s from an DIY amp shop in Spain...fingers crossed.

    2. Good luck, then! Let's think positive.

  5. what ideas for 6 pins in the original, it works for her, we do not. I made several of them, they work, but there are distortions, boost. Unlike other tremolo, it is not critical, but it is. And a 1000μF capacitor, what is its need? This is my favorite tremolo)

    1. I don't know, just came across this circuit a couple of days ago... But I read the info about the power connections and included power to pin 8 only. In your earlier builds, have tried both pin 6 and 8 or pin 8 only? Did it sound the same? And what layout did you use?

That 1000uF cap is overkill me thinks...I guess a 100uF will do?

    2. It's such a shame really exciting looking stuff like this can't be built because the chips are hard to find 😿

    3. You can find it here:
      https://www.retroamplis.com/epages/62070367.sf/es_ES/?ObjectID=9373016
      And for cheap.
And they are reliable. Never failed to me... Even MN3007 and stuff like that.
And, yes, this is, by far, the best tremolo of all. At least to me. And I build almost every vero arround.

    4. Thank you. This one does sound awesome in the demos.
That gets a bit crazy expensive with UK postage... I'll keep looking, and in the meantime build the Schaller tremolo

      Thank you

    5. Dragāo....I've found some from a UK eBay supplier with good positive feedback, and ordered the FET and other TLC chip.
I may be bothering you with questions when it comes to wiring that switch 🤯

  6. Can't get this one going, maybe its my ICL8038??. My 10ohm resistor and the TLC2262 get super hot also

    1. Swapped the TLC2262 out for a TL062 and it works - dodgy parts!!! Not boxing this one, it's not the most amazing trem
