Just built this and it sounds great, but is it normal for it to be above unity even with the volume on 0. Volume goes up with the gain dramatically, but the volume has a really narrow range and can't really be tuned down very much.
Vol 1 going to H16 as per the layout, and no cut between pin 4 and 5. Can't see any obvious faults. Just noticed a layout on the tagboard forum with Vol 1 going to ground.
Sorry, yes, Volume 1 should be connected to H16, not G16. H row is actually grounded and so is pin 4 and pin 5. It seems that you have a missing ground connection at row H. Check the doublelink under the IC and check if pin 4 and 5 is grounded with a DMM.
Hey what's D5?
ReplyDeleteIt is a polarity protection diode. 1N5817 or 1N4001 will do.
DeleteHello, fuzzhead!
ReplyDeleteDo you have the schematic of .45 Caliber? I am interested of Majestic's one, too :)
Thank you!
You can tag it, I built it a couple weeks ago and it sounds freaking amazing !!!
ReplyDeleteCool!
DeleteI'll tag it.

ReplyDeleteNo, that's not normal. Do you have lug 1 of Volume ctrl connected to G16? And no cut between pin 4 and 5 of the op amp?

Yup, found an iffy ground connection and it’s fine now.
DeleteMany thanks
Ben
Hi Fuzzhead! Dou you have the schematic?
ReplyDeleteThanks
