  1. Thanks so much for this and every other layout! I have a behringer SF300 but I like this more. I'll be boxing this with the Pink Goat I built a while ago and still hasn't left my board :)
As soon as I get some J201s I'm going to try the Holy Mountain just because Sleep.

    1. Deadend Fx have some useful information in the build docs for their Super Fuzz replica project

Hfe 100-175 seem to be gains to shoot for.

  4. Would it be possible to have the Aion version with the tone control at some point?

    1. For the Rift tone control, the tone switch is simply replaced by a 50kB potentiometer. The wiper is is connected to Balance 3. Switch 1 in the layout becomes lug and the switch 3 is lug 3.

  6. I don't currently have my meter, so I just built this with metal can 2n2222s and hoped for the best, figuring I can always swap trannies around later. Well, must have gotten lucky - heavy heavy heavy, and playing neck pickup above 12th fret makes for great upper octave sounds. Included a 3 position switch for the diodes for lift, GE, and green LED and followed fuzzheads instructions above for changing the 2 position switch to a tone pot. Super versatile now!

    1. As a side note - I took a quick glance at the Aion Fx Rift as I remembered it included a trimmer to fine tune the octave. I removed the 22k's connected to Q4 and Q5 base, ran a lead wire to a pair of 22ks in series - one to lug 1 and and the other to lug 3 of a 10k pot, then tie wiper to ground. Now it has an octave control!

  7. Is that 100uF electro supposed to be 10uF?

    1. No, it's a filter cap for the power - 100uf is correct.
