The "V1/V2" DPDT has no pin 3 connection listed, but I think I found the solution: Row Q's 39n (left side) actually connects only to "V Sw 3". Row P should be labeled "In 2 & B Sw 2", and Row Q should read "V Sw 3". This reconciles this layout with defx's schematic. HTH! ~Christopher
I offer these corrections to the layout: lower-left labels (1.) row P: "In2 & B Sw2" (2.) row Q: "V Sw3" (3.) row R: "V Sw2 & Two2" (4.) lift the G5 end of that 3M3 resistor and connect it to column 8's long link or it's equivalent.
In other words... the 3M3 resistor [R4 on defx schem] correctly connects to B5, but the G5 connection is wrong: that end belongs connected to Q1-Collector (which is also connected to Q2-Base, R5/3M3, & C12/33n).
All my pots & toggles do modify the sound in some way. :) That's about as ambiguous as the labeling Infanem put on this box's controls. At lease a few basic fuzz sounds it has are good, imo.
At 1st blush it seems the controls would adapt to & complement several different rigs, rather than being there as a large usable palette of a pedal.
Mine is under unity gain with In & Out max'ed, so I'm still working on verifying this. I must be missing something b/c certainly it would need a boost to do justice to the interactivity of the controls. fwiw, I'm using defx's recommended transistors w/hfe values fairly close to their stated gain specs.
V sw2 is listed twice. Is the top "v sw 2" meant to connect to "in 2 & v sw 2" near the bottom?

ReplyDelete...and yes, there are 2 connections to V Sw2 that need to be made
