EarthQuaker Devices Dream Crusher

Traced by Unsound Circuitry, once again, thanks, mate!

It is a well known fact that this is a modified Ge Fuzz Face. The stock Fuzz control is ditched and replaced with a "Pre Gain2 control. It runs on normal power supply and is powered by soviet MP37B NPN  germanium transistors. These are usually faily low gain and the current leakage is low. The bias trimpot is placed on the side of the board for easy moddong for an external bias pot.

  1. Just finished this one. I used BC109's and it sounds killer. :-)

  3. Man, super thick fuzz!! And, yes, it does doom!! Glad I had two mp37b’s left, thanx for this one Fuzzhead, I was unaware they did a NPN germanium Fuzz face??

  4. I think this was originally intended to be more of a leaky sounding lower gain fuzz face variant. But it really kicks ass as a higher gain fuzz. And lives up to its name that way too.

  5. All of the mp37 & mp38 I’ve used had less than 100uA leakage, according to my DCA55?

    1. I was referring to the demos that I watched. I put one together with a pair of germs from Small Bear that haven't sounded great in anything but came to life in this circuit. Not low gain at all though. Skull crushingly heavy actually. Approved
