  1. Totally attempting this next weekend. Any chance of getting their Fault pedal drawn up? JHS saying it was his favorite and most unique klon circuit has had me intrigued

  2. I started working on this one tonight. It's not coming on yet. I found a couple of little typos. Q4 is the bottom left most transistor. Mode switch is labeled "Gate" below. Might be confusing. ...Is it my imagination, or is this a bizarre circuit? I'm guessing it's essentially a Face. But some of the choices are odd.

  3. I'm getting no voltage to Q3, Q5. The switch passes signal from one side but it's boosted only. I think that the error may be in leading the 3.9k to + instead of ultimately going to ground via the 33nf.

    1. Eliminate the cut near Q3 and move the 3.9k down one. Mode 2 down one as well. That solved that issue but I'm still getting no voltage to Q3 and Q5. (Maybe .500mv, gate doesn't effect it). Can the 56k bias be wrong? I looked at the gut shot and it looked like a 56k.

    2. Thanks Tom for giving it a go. And sorry for the late reply, my google account is messed up at the moment...

The layout is fixed, moced, 3,9k resistor, ditched the cut and moved the switch connection. The voltage to Q3/Q5 is fed through the 56k resistor. Might want to check connections in that area? Do you have voltage at the Drain of Q7?

    3. Yeah, I'm getting voltage on every transistor but Q3 and Q5. 5-6v on Q2 and 5-6v on the FET. All the others except for Q3 and Q5 are drawing 9v on the collector. I checked my connections and all seems sound. I'll give it another look when I have the time. I guess this one's based on a wooly mammoth.

  4. YES!! Definitely need more old blood in my life. Them, KMA, and JTPR FX are the top 3 companies i'd love more schematics for

  5. Hi Anders, any chance of doing Goosoniqueworx 7th Heaven. Its a biggie but it sounds pretty good

    1. Hi Ian, apologies if you are already aware of these, but looks like there's layouts for the 7th Heaven at Tagboard and Sabrotone.

  6. I think you can tag this one. No idea what I had done wrong. I went over it many times and found nothing. I pulled the two transistors that weren't drawing current and it woke up. Why? Haha, it sounds similar to the demos and everything seems to be functioning. Q3/Q5 are drawing just over 1V. It seems low but its cookin'. Thanks as always Anders. Hope you're well.

    1. Awesome Tom! Tagged.

Everything is fine here. Not much time to build stuff and check the blog lately...hopefully things settles soon...

    2. I believe I have everything sussed as well. For reference:
      Q1 E 3.6v B 4v C 8.8v
      Q2 E 0.33v B 1v C 5.5v
      Q3 E 0v B 0v C 0.8v
      Q4 E0.6v B 0.8v C 3.5v
      Q5 E 0v B 0v C 0.8v
      Q6 E 0.6v B 0.7v C 3.7v
      Q7 D 4.2v S 1.8v G 0v.

Tom, are these similar to your voltages?

Also, the key of Qs is currently mixed up on the document. According to what I see on the schematic, it should say Q1-3: MPSA18, Q4-5: 2n3904, Q6 MPSA18, Q7 2n5485.

    3. Not quite. I was getting similar readings at first. I wrestled with this one for a while but it rips now. Q3 and Q5 should be drawing just over 1V on the collector. My Q7 is actually drawing 7.4V on the drain. The others look like they're in the right ballpark. I don't know what the intended voltages are of course but it sounds as it should.

I didn't notice the transistor assignment issue. I was preoccupied with just getting it to work really. I'll have to look into that when I have more time.

  7. hey! didn't have 2n5485 and it worked with 2sk30a (mind the pinout) - ordered the requested ones anyways... not sure if it's the same as the real one but seems close to the videos. pretty sure mix and tone pots are backwards. also gate (range in the original?) switch just does something in lower fuzz pot positions - guess its ok
