Swap the 1K5 resistor above the trimmer, R25 in the linked schematic, for a 5K1 and you can tag it as verified. Also I'm counting 15 links not 14. Fantastic sounding overdrive, this one is going straight on the pedalboard. The low cut trimmer is pretty subtle, I'm not sure there would be much point turning it into an external control.
I agree 100% with Sooty's remarks above. Verified. imo, the drive shines and responds dynamically with the gain from 8:30-to-1 o'clock... above that the circuit seems like a decent distortion but not super unique. otoh, diming the gain & rolling back guitar volume is also a thing. It's got a lot of volume if you need it, and the treble control is pretty useful through it's whole range. hth
