Q2 through Q8 are 2N5088s. Layout is updated, thanks for the heads up.
Verified! Built it with BC184C and 2N5457 and additional filtering acc to the schematic. Very nice sound! Indeed like a mixture between BM Pi, Tonebender and FuzzFace. But I´d recommend a 100k-W because the tone-pot is very sensitive.

I don't know, man. Could be anything. Solder bridge, misplaced component, faulty part etc. :-/
