Hey Fuzzhead, any schematic available on this?(whether at FSB or elsewhere)
Really interesting circuit nonetheless, definitely appears to be a rat with a little more kick; looking at what they did to the cap and resistor values.
Hey, man. You can download all the schematics and PCB files at VFEs website. This one is a variation of their Alpha Dog but it has enough differencies to warrant an own layout....and it was a request:-)
Yeah, it looks interesting for sure...very peculiar volume control I must say...
Hey, you can tag this one, built it with J201 and OPO7 - layout is spot on! Never played or seen an original, but some pictures in the internet use the comp knob as trimmer and I can understand why - I am going to fix a 1k resistor there. Volume control definitely feels different, and I have some some crackle (I can't tell if it is related to it being connected to FET bias or if this cheap pot as been recycled too many times), but I can live with it. Sounds nice!
Thank you Pedro! I'll tag it soonish. Yeah, that volume control is really odd (why use a bias control for volume?) but the important thing is that it works and it sounds good.:-)
