You can tag this one, Anders - I built it to spec, with a AMC2BF3, and used a 2n5457 for the Jfet. Only thing I did change, was I upped the dwell pot value to c500k as this circuit feels a little tame for me... still - it works and sounds like real springs!!!
Dude, you're awesome! Thanks a mil. Good to know that upping the Dwell pot value results in more reverb. Got any ideas for making it into some bizarre echo machine yet? A feedback loop maybe?
Hm... I'm pretty sure that I will mount the verb tank to the outside of an enclosure for starters, and a momentary feedback switch would probably not be hard to do either! As far as upping the value of the dwell pot, it helped some, but I'm still going to play around with the socketed parts to see if I can get more out of this circuit. Thanks again for drawing it up!

After waiting 3-4 months to receive the spring reverb tank, yesterday I finished the Orion Reverb. It sounds very good, but I will try the mods above mentioned for the dwell pot/resistor.
This will be my first attempt at an actual spring tank build. I'll update if I manage to verify this!

ReplyDeleteThe resistor that goes to dwell pot leg 3 (the 392K 🙄) can be upped considerably. I used 820K and now this thing sounds like a Black Angels album!!!
