  1. Another big pedal, big classic, Keeley take on the Centaur... Awesome one! Don't forget Timmy, Nobels ODR-1 and...the KOT. :O) The world needs your take on them. I have all of it, but I'll build your KOT, promise of dragon!...

    1. Uh oh....KoT...
Is the internal DIP switches worth having panel mounted?

    2. Yes and... no. :O) Anyway will do. Let's vote!...

    3. I think Timmy is comming sometime during the weekend.:-)

  2. I got this one up and running. It's much higher gain than I expected and I'm getting a sort of stuttering motorboat thing behind the effect. So, not perfect but it does sound pretty cool.

    1. Thanks for tackling this, Tom!
Let us know if you solve the botorbaiting. I guess it is just almost verified by now?

    2. Found it. It's missing a 100k resistor from the 4.7k that connects Tone 2 to IC pin 2. There was no room so I shared a hole at 6-D. (I'm sure you can find a more elegant solution Anders.) Motor boating gone. Sounds way heavier than expected. It's a pretty great one honestly. I found a schematic online and stared at it for an hour last night. Haha. You can verify it with this adjustment. Thanks.

    3. Thanks Tom!
The 100k resistor is added and the layout is tagged.

hmmm... a high gain Klon, sounds interesting...

    4. It is darker than a Centaur. I thought the Klon comparison was just spin but the circuit is pretty close I guess. There are some adjustments to a cap or two that apparently open up the EQ a bit. Primarily C1 I think.

I bet you could design a good one. We all love the way the K boosts but it sounds pretty anemic in other applications. I actually found that D9K's sound pretty good in the stock circuit. A touch chunkier.

  3. [[Eye roll]], Tone 1 not Tone 2.

  4. Hi, is there a schematic for this? cannot find one on the net.

  5. I don't have the schematic but the layout does work. Coincidentally, I dug this one out just last night. It works perfectly. It's klnd of a warmer and higher gain Klon. Very nice.

  6. Thanks for that. The only reason why I ask is that I prefer to make and use PCBs....however using Vero's is not the end of the world :).

    1. No idea what Anders used but I did find these somewhat crude ones.

    3. Robert Keeley posted the schematic on his blog a few years ago. It dissapeared a while ago but luckily I found it in a forgotten USB stick...
      Schematic uploaded!

    4. Thanks for that. Also I'm going cross eyed the number of times I've counted the cuts. I can only see 35.

    5. Looks like 35 to me. One probably was discarded during revision. Also, you may want to tinker with the 100nf cap connected to pin 4 of IC1. lowering the value will shelve some lows. I tried it and preferred stock. Some recommend going as low as 2.2nf. I would suggest something more like 47nf if you find the circuit a bit dark.

    6. The 100nf is near IC1 pin 5 not 4

    7. Thanks... figured that one out. Anyway I've got serious motor boating. it just wouldn't work at all all with 5532s but did get sound with 2134s. Will go through again tomorrow morning when not so tired... thats when mistakes happen!
