M3 Emthree Mini Synthy

This is an obscure octave down fuzz from Italy, manufactued in 70's. The three pontentiometers adjust normal fuzz, one octave down and two octave down. Note that I made small mod to this one since the original SAJ110 IC is long gone obsolete and expensive. It is replaced with a CD4024 binary counter and divider IC.

  1. Had a bit of trouble finding a transistor combo that could work with this build but I think its pretty much working. I settled on substituting Q2, Q3 & Q4 to 2n5088 and Q1 to 2n2222 since I didn't have any BC109 on hand. There is pretty big volume drop with the hard switch engaged but it looks correct from the schematic I found. The only thing that was odd on the layout was the 1k resistor at the 9v.

    1. Thanks a lot! Tagged. The ik resistor is only a CLR, it has now been labelled.

  2. Oooh, killer. Making this, thanks man. See if it'll compete with my Bit Commander for space.

  3. Big upvote for this one! It should get more attention and love! Sounds awesome and actually tracks pretty well! I also found that the sustain is sweeet, no gating at all. Thanks for the layout!
