  3. Finished this today. Getting a high pitched feedback when the mids is just past half. I also noticed compared to the original schematic there is a 100nF missing in the power section. IDK if that matters here. I'm ganna try to build another... i'll report back

    1. Add 68pF cap between 1 and 2 pin of IC2, and increase 47pF caps to 68-100pF. It solved issue for me.

  4. So i built this again and same thing is happening... when the mids are just past half, high pitch noise just comes in, you can change the frequency of the pitch with the tone and push knobs... haha... is there anything i can provide to help troubleshoot?

    3. I've been looking over the eq section and the only mistake I could find (so far)is the value of the 4,7k resistor bellow IC2. It should be 3,3k.

    4. ok I swapped the 4.7 to 3.3... i also noticed the input cap on the schematic is 4.7u so i made that swap... and finally can you double check that Sweep 4(should be Sweep 4&5) and Sweep 5&6(should be Sweep 6).. I made all those changes and its working now

    2. The closest thing I can find is Aion's cirulean, which can be built into the V4. https://aionfx.com/app/files/docs/cerulean_documentation.pdf

      The actual schematic is very elusive for some reason.

  7. Thank you very much for this veroboard layout. Everything works, and it works perfectly.

    The only issue was some squealing and self-oscillation on the lead channel when the Mid control was turned above halfway. I solved this by adding a 68 pF capacitor between pins 1 and 2 of the second TL072 chip.

    I also increased both 47 pF capacitors in the circuit to 68 pF, which significantly improved the situation without affecting the sound in any noticeable way.

    I also want to warn anyone who is going to build this that the first chip has a very strong influence on the overall character of the sound. The 5532 really sounds like the original pedal. If you use a TL072, the sound becomes sharper, more aggressive, and more modern. The TL062 is kind of a compromise between the 5532 and TL072.

    So I recommend updating the layout by using 68 pF capacitors instead of the 47 pF ones, and adding a 68 pF capacitor between pins 1 and 2 of the second chip.

    And if anyone still experiences squealing or oscillation, check the charge pump — it needs to be a 7660S, specifically the version with the “S” suffix.

    1. One more info. Info from ownersof pedal from forums. Settings for transistors are Q1 12-14volt, q2 11-13volt. Q3 -8v. I did 13,11,8 with ears, sounds amazing.

  8. I finally get j201 transistors and tried a lot of variants with mixing 2n5457 and j201. Imho it is the best with q1 j201 q2 2n5457 q3 j201. It gives the bigest dynamic range. Q1 must be j201 fo sure. Rest two can be either one.
