Found two mistakes. First, omit "Volume 3" connection on the board. Second, bottom leg of the 33k resistor need to be moved up one row to the negative side of the 1uF cap.
The layout is based on this schematic with some minor differncies. http://pedalparts.co.uk/docs/SunnTAMZ.pdf
good catch! i don't double check verified layouts ( since they're verified) but when i saw your comment i decided to check the schematic and you are right! thanks!
I don't have one anymore, I might build another and try. I didn't have any issues with the previous ones I built. I'm interested by the comment about the leg of the 8,2nklf cap.
I'm terrible at reading schematics - my brain just doesn't work that waymy brain just doesn't work that way
i think you should indeed move the leg of the 8.2 cap (10nf on schematic) to the neg side of the 1uF cap. but if you read fuzzhead's comment , he mentioned this layout "based" on the schematic. this would explain the minor differences in values (33k/39k, 8.2nf/10nf) if your build sounds fine, then fine! but if you are curious you could build it according the schematic
Is there a schematic available for this? It sounded pretty good but the tone and shape didn't seem to really do anything.

I made the changes and everything sounds correct now.
DeleteThanks! Tagged.
DeleteMake it ! Nice sound …tone knob it doesn’t similar with big muff but it’s more smooth …very very nice sound !!
ReplyDeleteOh crikey! This is a winner!

Thanks for the demo Ian! Sound really cool.
DeleteYour demo is added to this post.
Correct me if im wrong but shouldn't the "upper" leg of the 8n2 cap be one row further up? On E, instead of F.
ReplyDeleteShape 1 to ground. Otherwise, the tone stack shape control doesn't seem to work. Also verified with the schematic.

ReplyDeleteAre you referring to the 8,2nf cap?
Deleteit's the 3k3 resistor on shape 1, it should connect to shape 2/3
DeleteSeems to me like it would work , but just in reverse? Sounds great in Ian’s demo tho!
ReplyDeletelol maybe you should build it and find out? it's a small adjustment if you allready build it
