Hi, Thanks for this one. Sounds pretty good ! Just one request : the curve of the volume, even with a A100k is too fast at the first 30%. Any idea to soften it, like it was even more log ? Thanks.
Yes I will try. But I was thinking that it would probably affect the tone and/or the max amount of volume of the pedal. The volume knob acts as if it was reverse log which it quite disturbing to my ears. I was talking with an owner of the original one 2 days ago and he confirmed that the volume was acting the same way on the original too.
Hi, if someone's interested, I have found the answer to my problem : the 10k resistor between lug 2 and 3 of the volume pot works as a tapering resistor.
I took a look at the Zendrive schelmatic and reproduced the same volume section.
So, to get the volume pot way more usable : - replace the 10k resistor after the 470nf output cap by 1K - get rid of output wire - replace vol 2 wire by vol 3 wire - vol 2 to output
I just looked at this schematic and had to do a spit take - I've built quite a few zendrives at this point - and I'm still wrapping my head around why Mason would remove the highly useful Voice control unless it was A. To disguise that he lifted a schematic, or B. To be just that much cheaper to produce?
You can use 50, but it might sound a bit harsh. The cap attenuates some of the high frequency content in the diode clipping section. Basically it will "smooth" the distortion. I would actually try a higher value first - anything between 220 and 470pf
Tag it my dude. All workin. Many thanks 🙏
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I'll tag it right away!
ReplyDeleteIt says 7 links I can only see 6 am I missing one somewhere also what does the black dot under the chip signify thanks
ReplyDeleteit is a double links connection which is two links in one shared hole. So it is 7 links in total.:-)
Deletenice layout, got a schematic? cheers
ReplyDeleteHere it is:

Not sure how to change the curve but you could try a lower value for the volume pot.....50kA-25kA?

This is the same as zendrive schematic. Is it a rip-off? Or it's not the actual ultraphonix?
ReplyDeleteIt is based on an actual Ultraphonix schematic.

The Ultraphonix itself is a Zendrive ripoff.;-)

Deletehey guys... would be ok if i put 50pf cap instead of 100pf. and what would be the consequences.. thanks in advance!

DeleteThanks for your reply! I got 4.46v at pin1 with 9.00v supply with gain pot at max. Is rhat close enough..thanks!
Deletei would like to find and fix the differences with ultraphonix hrm. Please help.
