just tried building this and I think most of it is working. Meaning that all the pots seem to be functioning and the led's are pulsing and changing depending on which pot is being turned. However I am not getting any audio signal past the 470k resister going into filter sw2 (k2). I'm wondering if this is because it is a on/off/on switch? would using an on/on/on switch perhaps solve this? Help! Please! : (
The switch isn't the problem. It looks like that top LED is in the wrong place: its anode (positive leg) should be a row lower, on I15, and its cathode (negative leg) should be a row higher, on J15. I haven't checked for errors beyond that, but give that a try and see if it works.
I haven't checked the schematic but Output is going straight to ground - hence no sound. Move the Output wire up two rows, same row as the 1uf, and it should be fine
I built this and the lights pulse and all seems in the correct spots but I’m getting no audio. I did the two fixes listed above this but am wondering if it’s something else??
Built this today, present layout can be verified after the changes to the top led mentioned by Sebastian (thanks)! Output works fine as it is. A couple of notes: - Sq/Tri Sw 3 is mislabelled - Both leds are labelled D1 - LFO led needs to be same type as D1 and D2 since all leds are in parallel.
In my build I used random tayda ldrs, clear yellow leds and tl082 and everything sounds as the demo (without ticking). Correct led/ldr combo probably gives better sensitivity to the depth pot, but it works fine as it is. Used 4.7 uF in the LFO and now it goes really slow for the first third of the pot, the 2.2 uF in the layout is probably wiser.
Overall I found it a pretty fun variation of tremulus lune / shoot the moon. The filters are a nice touch, and the LFO/Man sw gives access to a small boost (extremely crystal clear/transparent without the filters).

ReplyDeletethanks to both of you. I did both of those changes and got it working.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Glad you got it working. 👍

Thank you very much for the layout!
