  1. Anders, as this is rat related - I was wondering if you'd be so kind and as to take a quick look at the jhs series 3 distortion. I've had a couple of goes with identical starved/wonky results. It's so close to the standard rat (which works great for me) it's almost like all diodes are on at once or something....

Thanks and gratitude as always ☺️

    1. I see no issues with that layout and other have built it with no issues...
It is basically the stock Rat layout with switchable diodes and an extra resistor across the volume control.

Have you taken voltages? It might give a hint about what the problem could be.

    3. It might be an error in the way I am wiring up the filter one and two to the switch....🤔

  2. Ian, if you look at a stock Rat layout, there is very little difference. It looks like you simply have a set of Red led's on a switch, effectively allowing you to turn it into a Turbo Rat. The only value that seems redundant is possibly the 10k resistor connected from Vol 3 to ground. Maybe it's there for some reason but you might just lift on side of it and see if it solves the issue.

  3. Not sure where to post requests so here goes. Never seen an attempt anywhere for a Boss SD-2 dual overdrive. All I want is the crunch side of the dual overdrive. I don't even use the distortion side. I have used the crunch side of the circuit on my pedal board for the last 20 years. It's almost always on for just a little overdrive. I would love to build my own. It is a great sounding OD. Just a request. Thanks
