  1. I had a feeling this was going to show up any minute. Thank you! Now I'm going to be a big nerd and go find myself some D9Ks.

  6. 10m resistor in the collector-base of q1?! wowza! I can only find these in carbon 1/2watt format, does this seem about right?

  7. A question about 2n3904's please.
So many circuits call for this transistor... I'm increasingly finding the each time I buy them the HFEs seem to be getting lower and lower (I received some today in the low 80s and none higher than 200)

It was my belief this was a relatively high hfe transistor?
What are people's thoughts and is it important in a circuit like this?

    1. Thats very low mate, they usually come in at around 250 but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've made some great fuzz pedals using silicon trannies with an hfe of around 80

  8. Just finished this and now testing it. I get signal through it, Vol works as does tone, but when adusting more I get pretty much no dirt?
I used a BAT48 instead of 41 as it was what I had on hand, could that cause the problem? Also used some D9J's as thats what I had, diodes are socketed so I can change things around if needed.

    1. From what I recall, this circuit has a decent amount of dirt. Kind of a supercharged Electra. Sounds like you might have a bridge or a misplaced component. Speaking of EQD and Electra, I’ve always liked The Bellows personally. Oldie but a goodie.

    2. Thats what I thought also, I'll have to double check everything tomorrow. I don't think its a misplaced component as I'm always super careful after doing that in the past! But you never know.
A bridge is more likely I think.

    3. My mistake, Bellows is a Bazz Fussss. Cool simple beginner circuit if someone is looking for one.
