VFE Choral Reef Analog Chorus

Great sounding chorus which is based on EHX Small Clone but with much more tweakability.

Note that the swithing board is not included for this layout so the voltage reference components (8,2k, 10k and 47uF) istaken from the switching board into this layout.

Schematic and info HERE

    1. I'm afraid not. Can't find anything iether. Banzai and Smallbear used to carry this but not anymore. And Ebay is out of question when it comes to obsolete BBD IC...:-/

  2. Greetings Fuzzhead! I get my hands on a MN3008 now. So I'm gonna give a try on this monster.
Some issues, looking at the schematic...
    a) Speed pot connections are missing ( presume Q and T ?)...
    b) A missing 14.3K resistor (before 33k)?...
    c)Are'n't 10uF caps bi-polars?...
    d)IC numbers?...
    e) Should'n't Mix2/feedbk 1 be on L, and Feedbk 3 on N?

And I can only count 62 cuts. But, hey, I'm a dragon, not an eagle. :O)

  4. As it is on the layout, MN3008 have ground on pin 5 and 8. Is it possible for it to work? (as it has ground pins, according to datasheed, on 1 and 4)?.. (I guess in the schematic there's a downside perspectif of the MN3008, and they number all the 14 socket pins)...

    1. Hey Dragao. I'll take a closer look tomorrow:-)
Where did you get hold of a MN3008???

    2. From a electronic suplier here. And two 3007. Have to wait and paid a ton. But, as you know this days, nobody can swear it will works. :O( Let´s think positive.
Glad you take a look. A big help from you is needed. (Never forget how I have to sell a kidney to pay the 3008 to the local Mafia). :O)

    3. But you can find it here (and for cheap):

    4. Just to correct: on pin 1 , the ground of MN3008...

    5. -Connections to the Speed control added.
      - I assume the 33k resistor you are referring to is the one at column 7? Top leg connect to a 14,3k resistor and the bottom leg connect to a horizontal 220nF cap.
-Feedback 3 moved to the right row.
-All 10uF caps is polarized in the schematic?
-The MN3008...I got fooled by the pin numbering in the schematic which doesn't match the data sheet.... I'll see if I can shift some things around...

  5. Thanks for your time.
All 10uF are polars in the schematic, and bi-polars and 1 tantalum in the shipping list.
Yes, is the 33k at col 7.
Can you confirm Depht wiring ? (I supect both, 1 and 3 should descend to a row bellow, or I'm I seeing bad?...)
And Mix2 and Feed 1, are both VB on the schematic...

  7. Well, finally I managed to put this thing to work. Unfortunately, as it is, is not verified. The Ic4 and the left side of the layout wiring connections (Depht and Mix) should be adressed. You know how to do that way better than me. Just pay a litle atention to the schematic. But, except for the IC4 and the missing 14.3K resistor before 33k (4 on the schematic, only 3 in the layout), the layout, as usual, is a masterpiece.
Thank you very mutch for your tremendous work. The pedal enters direct to my pedal board (and the top ten ever), and I'm very happy and comforted for my lost kidney: I have a real Panasonic MN3008. Lucky bastard, after all!
    Cheers and take care.
    Dragão over and out.
