I don't know who did this layout and which schematic did you follow , but after I found the schematic online , I clearly see mistakes , and now I know why It's not working. IC1 from the schematic from the input point R1,C1 and R2 go to pin 3 on the first IC , and this layout goes through pin 4 , which is the -v of the IC and not the Non inverting input. And there's much more I found.
I was about to order parts for this build but reading the comments has me thinking twice. Has anyone successfully built this? Can OP address issues with the layout?
I built this and something seems off. Volume is a little low and the output if very fuzzy, spitty like it is not biased properly. Not sure what the problem is.
The positive + of the 4.7uF polarized coupling cap in the output stage is shown connected to pin 6 of NE5532 IC but should be on pin 7. The cap’s negative - is connected to the correct spot, VOL 3 (Output). I moved the CLR out of the way and connected the + of the cap to pin 7 (M 17). It works well.
I built it and it works nicely!! It seems to me that it would it be greater if it could go lower in the frecuencies, to get more low-mids... the sweep stops too early for me when you go down. Any modification that could fix this? Thanks!
Well... I was totally wrong, the sweep is ok! Now what I feel is that maybe I would love it to be more clean....to have more pick attack and definition... Other ICs would be cleaner? Thanks!
Just build it
ReplyDeleteNo success , anyone here build it and can say it's working?

Here is the schematic which the layout is based upon.

There are two versions very different of this pedal.

ReplyDeleteSteveE, check the post below. I think I solved the issue.

ReplyDeleteAwesome ToFo! Thanks for the update.
DeleteThe layout is updated and tagged. Yhanks TOFO!
DeleteThe updated layout looks exactly like what I did. Then I soldered and heat shrinked the LED CLR off board to one of the LED leads.
DeleteIt didn’t sound as good out of the box, picked up a lot of ambient noise. Soon as I boxed it up, thus shielding it, it sounded like it’s supposed to.
Thanks, fuzzhead!
Here’s my build.
