BJFE Sea Blue EQ

  1. Been thinking about making this as an analog "warming" pedal for digital keys. I see that BJ has since made a 5 knob version with 2 gyrator eqs for low mids and high mids. Is there any chance you could incorporate those mods in a layout?
He gave the information to good ol' tagboard fx: http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/01/bjfe-sea-blue-eq.html?m=1

  2. Hey Anders - I'm going to try to verify this older post of yours. One question: ground can be connected at row 16, column 12... right? Assuming you just accidentally left that off when you posted and since it seems no one has tried to verify this yet, it just hasn't come up yet?

    2. Hey Chris. Hope everything is good.
Yes, you want your ground connection at column 16 / row 12. Let me know if you verifies it and if you find it useful!

  3. Okay - you can tag it "verified", I built it with the following mods:
    1) 10M resistor to voltage and gate of Q1 per Björn's recommendation
    2) used 15k instead of 14.7k 🤷
    3) connected to a 12v supply
    4) used a MPF102 for Q1 and 2n5458 for Q2

    It sounds awesome!

And sorry about the duplicate posts in the comments here. I have an IPhone which does my play well with Blogger.

  4. Just wanted to check if the volume has a point where it hits unity then acts as a boost with a bit of a drive?

  5. I am out of 2n5457s at the moment and havent got any 5458s either. I saw else you can use J201 but i can source any. Would a MPF102/2n2222a be a suitable replacement for the 5457s? Or do you have any suggestions what i could use?
