Vivie Minerva V1

Theresmaller are some layouts from smaller japanese brands in the backlog.

So today is "Japanese Bouteek Day"!

First out a Guvnor style distortion with an active "Tube" control.

Schematic is avaiable HERE.

  1. I built this, and got no signal.
After tracing the schematic on the Japanese blog, I found some serious trace errors with the TUBE circuit.

    1) "Tube 2" is incorrect. Connect Lug 2 AND 3 of "Tube" to the "Tube 3" on the vero layout. Then, "Tube 2" on the vero layout should be jumpered to "Tube 1". *This would be a simple one to fix on vero.

    2) 5 pins right from the right side of IC2. There is a vertical 4.7k resistor and horizontal 2.2nF cap. bottom end of 4.7k and left end of 2.2nF must be separated, and the left end of 2.2nF should be connected to the track 6 pins above (connecting three 10K, 10nF and another but horizontal 4.7k.) Maybe the one who created the layout was confused with these two 4.7k resistors.
** This one would be a difficult fix since the tracks nearby are located tightly.

I have not fully debugged the hardware yet, but these are the differences between the reverse-engineered layout and the vero layout. At least, connecting the pin 1 of the layout to the output gives a signal with a decent amount of distortion. I guess the TUBE part is wrong.

Btw, thanks for building the layout!! Although it's incomplete, most of the parts are cleverly wired in such a small veroboard and it will work with a few fixes.
