  1. Verified, thanks. Good advice to keep the transistors medium gain on this one.

    1. This is one of my all time favorite fuzz circuits. I've made a few and I've settled on bc108b's. I LOVE the tone control.

    2. Agreed! Forgotten and underrated is an understatement.

  2. I just discovered this fuzz. I'm building it right now.
Is it suitable for bass, or should I try upping the 22nF caps?

    1. Not sure it is suitable for bass with the stock input 22nF cap. Yes, upping it would be a good idea.

    2. Hi,
Confirmed : the fuzz sounds good (and the layout is as always great), but to get more bass out of it one should increase the input cap value a bit.

    3. Ok, I increased the input cap to 68nF.
Now, I would like to have a bit more bass boost when the TONE pot is set at minimum position : should I also increase that capacitor value?

By the way, it's a really great fuzz, and an easy to build layout : highly recommended!

    4. The other 22nF is on the treble side of the tone control so I guess you don't need to change it. There is no cap on the bass side, only a 22k resistor. You can reduce the value but I'm not sure you'll get more bass. You'll get more volume on the bass side for sure.

  4. Please forgive my ignorance, but the 100nf capacitor on row 13 is depicted if it was a smaller PF capacitor... I've tried to relate this to the original circuit diagram (but got a bit lost at sea), and cross referenced against the tag boards layout where there is no 100nf capacitor apart from electrolytics.

Sorry if I'm just being thick... it's definitely 100nf? I'm used to seeing 100nf in the bigger square burgundy box

    1. The cermaic 100nF is completely optional. It is prallel with the 100uF power filter cap and helps filter high ripple frequencies in case a of a bad power supply. And yes, it is a cermaic, they do this job much better than film caps.

    2. Wonderful...I'll try and source some to complete the build. Thank you!

    3. So in light of learning about ceramic cap working better than film for this purpose, I've used film caps instead of ceramic on my If six was nine build.
I was wondering if it's worth me changing them? I'll be more careful in future

      Cheers

  5. In fact,I've used film in place of ceramic in loads of circuits!🀦🏼‍♂️ d'oh!

  6. Just put this together. Works perfectly!
Great fuzz with really effective controls...
    Thank you!
