Per request. Was a bit hesistant to upload this since there are three missing cap values. But socketing some values should get you close enough. magus femar did some socketing and ended up with some values that works well. See the notes below the layout. Note that I omitted the ferrite beads since they are overkill and I also omitted the direct output jack.
Schematic is avaiable HERE.
lordy! lordy!lordy! i want to build this of course , the only thing i do not have is the ic! you know of any replacement ic's ? i must build this!
ReplyDeletei just ordered parts @ klaus, hopefully in 8-10 days i have the ic for this build :/
DeleteThe TL074 and LM324 have the same pinout, so you can use those to check your build while waiting for the TLC2264. Good luck!
Deletedont have that one either, i do have a lot of components but not all... will have to wait till i have my order. thanks though!
ReplyDeleteok! i build this using bc550c and tl074. there's 17 links instead of 16 and 40cuts. sw5 on n1 i connect to sw1. when i test it there's a sound audible somewhere in the distance ( even less output then the pedalpcb decadence ) but when i remove the ic, i get output, not mega loud but theres much more output. pots seem to work. c31 i put 10uF, c31 68 nF and c38 470Nf but i have to test further and offcourse no output with ic ! now its time to rest lol but wanted to make sure that i tried this layout / request
ReplyDeletehave been tinkering with this (with the correct ic) but when i remove the ic i get somekind of usable output but it is not loud enough , controls all work , almost no output with ic in socket, more output without ic but still not loud enough.
Deletehaving trouble with an old back injury i was not able to sit straight for 5 minuets without pain anymore , so i could not concentrate anymore... but! after a ton of painkillers and rest it has gotten better which put me in the position to check this build. since this layout is larger i had to buy larger stripboard ( which is much more expensive :/) but also came with very closely laid copepr strips, resultign in jeff bridges all over the place ! just wanted to say that the circuit works perfecto, n1 should be sw4, but thats the only "mistake". now i have to get the missing cap values ,atm (just to get a sound out of the fx) c32 1uF,c31 68nF, c38 470nF. i must say that it really sounds bassy, i will keep checking out teh values ( which could be personal preference )
ReplyDeleteso seeing this circuit this way , for me this request layout is verified
and my fellow pussy bassist can build this layout without fear it not working :P thank you very much for the layout fuzhead!
lol this looks like my own private thread hahaha anyways, so far more "balanced" sound : c32 68 nf ( if you lower this in the pf range theres significant less output) c31 22pf ( seems to give a bit more treble? ) c38 390 pf ( doubling or higher gives too much low end it seems )
DeleteHey Magus - sorry to hear about your back. I hope that you are healing up. While you were away, I managed to build and verify the Traynor TS-50b bass preamp with the +/-15v power converter. The entire post is still marked "On Hold" but my added, modified layout is verified. It is one of the biggest, loudest sounding things ever. You should check it out. I know you will love it once you get one built.
Deletethanks chris ! it is still not fully healed, but i can sit and concentrate for an hour or so before i have to change position or walk around... it is getting better. i will have to order that power converter , so awesome you made that layout ! the layout from fuzzhead though has still potential as being verified( after i changed the 78l33 for the 78l15 i had output from the circuit and no pepping sounds) will check that build after i have found better values for the bass muff. today i have a few orders to make, so will see how my back is doing tonight! cheers!
DeleteThanks magus, great job and thanks for suggesting the cap values! The layout is updated and tagged.
