Claybridge Fuzzmaster Mk. IV

How about an austrailian fuzz box from the late 60s?

Amazing that there is still undiscovered old circuits around...

Note that pot values and tapers are still unconfirmed but all of them is most likely 500k.

Schematic is avaiable HERE.

  1. That's really interesting - it's like a variation on a Shin Ei FY-2 Companion Fuzz. Not too many of those, I don't think? Or a vague impression of a Maestro FZ1-B. Either way, should sound real rad.

  2. Tag it! This is actually a really nice sounding circuit, a little splatty and nasally in a good way, with somewhat modest gain at output. I used BC548. Thank you Anders

  3. Cool discovery: the tone circuit was sucking up gain, so I took the signal from the volume pot without removing the tone pot and the tone knob still works without the audio going through it. Definitely not a full sweep tone knob, but an improvement over the signal loss in the original circuit. It reminds me of an old Stromberg Carlson amp that has a similar tone circuit.
