Where I can find the schematic of this? The Hax 2 is more complex, I would like to figure out how works the newer version. It's not a kind of sound I like to build, but I'm curious.
Of course, if I found the Hax 2's schematic it's even better.
As long as values are the same, you can always replace electrolytic caps with film. The only advantage to polarized capacitors is the ability to fit large values in smaller packages - circuits never *need* a cap to be polarized.
Had a go at the expression connection using an open frame stereo jack seperate from the input and output jacks. I ran an extra wire from the Tune pot lug 1 and 2, and soldered it to the Tip lug on the stereo jack. Next I wired a second wire from Tune pot lug 3 to the Ring lug on the jack. The sleeve or ground lug was left empty as the aluminium enclosure grounds the metal jack. Connection of a moog ep-3 set to standard TRS does sweep the Tune pot up and down which is heaps of fun. Not suggesting it is true to the original but does seem to work. Anyway that was my experience on my build, maybe a better way of doing it of course.
Has anyone that built this had any issues with carrier bleed even when bypassed. On the higher pitched settings I'm getting a loud whine all the time not just when using the pedal. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I did build this and really like it but haven't boxed it. I have had that same problem with other effects. For instance, the Robot Devil. Captain fuzzhead may know. Another project that is similar or even better than this is the Parasit Corrupter V3. I have wanted to box that one for a while but I fear commitment...and I'm kinda lazy.
It's not the case of Robot Devil, but in this layout (or the original schematic) an electrolytic cap as filter between the 9v and the ground can help. Try a 100uF between the Crush 1&2 stripe and the Ground stripe, with the negative onside on the ground. Usually that whine comes from the PSU, you can see if it there's even if you supply this circuit with a 9v battery.
looks cool! any knowledge on any possible chip equivalents for someone lacking an LM567? asking for a friend....
