This was a request. It is basically a stripped down Big Muff without external gain control, tone control and recovery stage. Decoupling caps is a bit bigger than most Big Muff variants and the clipping diodes is LEDs and Zener diodes.
Hey Fuzzhead. Is there a way for me to communicate with you here? I have a pedal I wanted to maybe send you to dissect if you are interested ( and if you are in the states ). Let me know if you are interested.
Unfourtenly I'm in the cold and dark Sweden but I know some pedal maniacs in the US who might be able to help you out. Or you could contact Bugg at PedalPCB, he traces pedals all the time it seems.

Which pedal are we talking about?
Hey man
ReplyDeleteThanks for the response. I'll check with Bugg. Thanks for the tip.
Enjoying your site here. I just found it a couple weeks ago. Been building from tagboard fx layouts for the last 10 years. Nice to find your site.
Thanks again
I built one of these awhile back and it surprised me how good it sounded. Dunno if it's the led/zener combo or what, but it's worthwhile I think.
ReplyDeleteJust finished building this verbatim, no output =(
ReplyDeleteOh lawd, my bad. Had a microscopic short, fired right up on second try. Verified! Sounds dope, big Smashing Pumpkins tones on tap
