You can mark this verified! I own a Bumble Buzz and did an A/B. This circuit sounds very, very similar. It is just *slightly* darker in tone, but perhaps that is down to tranny selection? I used cheap tayda metal can 2222a's. The Bumble Buzz I own uses plastic KSP 2222a's. (I followed the layout though substituted 39k+3.3k for the 42k.)
Sure - first time I tried an unverified layout so I'm super glad it worked! Also, I noticed my bumble buzz actually has two IN4007s (for the diodes labelled D1 and D3 on the pcb), but then two 1N5817s (I think -- I can only see "N58") for D4 and D2. Could that explain the slight difference in tone from this build?

Hey Ian! You can add a volume control at the end of the circuit but I'm afraid you won't get a volume boost out of it, just a volume cut. You can omit the 3330k resistor at the bottom right, take the Output wire to lug 3 of a 500k pot. Lug 1 goes to the right corner of the bottom row (ground). Lug 2 is your new Output.
Lovely! Just printed those for my stash! I'd considered the percolator, and even bought the tantalum caps...but then chickened out🤦🏼♂️ I'll definitely have a go.

I thought about being really bold and trying a reverb or delay (luckily all my favourite pedals like this are the pt2399 type) I was looking at the vfe springboard...but it looks even more intimidating when you tot up the parts cost 🤔😬
Hey Aaron - anything 16v and up is fine for a 9v pedal- the only real consideration otherwise is space. If the 25v fits comfortably, then there's no harm in using them. Sonically, there will be no difference.

ReplyDeleteOn the 10uf capacitor i have a 25v and 50v. Which one would be better to use. Same with the 100uf, I have a 16v and 25v.
