  1. I'd this verified I built the fuzzdog version and it looks pretty spot on

  2. This. Is. Awesome.

It sounds great, especially when you push it with a Rat>Muff combo. This was my first time using SMD. It's not pretty but it works. In this clip, I'm running it all through the FX loop.

    Thanks for the layout, man.

    1. That sounds great man. You must have a big arsenal of heavy fuzzes and distortions by now.

  3. I've got a few. lol I mostly use the Hoof Reaper and the Ultra Stoner/Rat. The Keeley is solid too. I'm going to be making a Beta this weekend, Layouteffects pcb. Are you planning on putting up a Beta layout?

    These are on my list:

You think a 201 would sub for Q1 on that Baja?

    1. Yeah J20 and most other J FET's1 will work fine since it is a input buffer.

Megalith is THEE doom fuzz IMO, I bet you're gonna like it.

Looking forward to hear about Black Sunn.

I'll take a looka at Sunn Beta but it will take a few days

Have you heard of this one. It sounds great for down tuned stuff.

    2. I haven't, that's a super quick build, I'll definitely make one of those. Thanks. I'm pretty psyched to build the Megalith now. THEE Doom Fuzz... 😳

  4. I built this but it's sounding very flabby and gated, particularly with the bass cranked. Everything is biased correctly so not sure what is going on. Where's that 100nf come from? Can't see that in any of the schematics, unless I'm looking at the wrong ones! I wonder if the Holy Mountain is any better...

    1. The 100nF cap is for power filtering to blog the highest noise frequencies in case of a bad power supply. It doesn't affect the sound of the circuit at all. I tend to add when it is space for it.
Yes, this thing is quite sensetive to transistor selection. Some J201s sounded ok, some sounded pretty bad. Tried a bunch of others and settled for 2N5457s for all transistors...

    2. Ahh thought it might be some cheeky power filtering. I'll try out some other transistors, see if that helps.
